The company behind the redevelopment of one of Glasgow’s most iconic buildings is offering SMEs and SEs the chance to learn industry secrets at a series of free specialist seminars with the next set for Friday 6thFebruary.

Paisley-based Barr Construction, which is currently leading the redevelopment of Kelvin Hall, is encouraging businesses from Glasgow wanting to save money and implement best practice within their companies to sign up to one of the free events.

The event on Friday will be held at the Kelvin Hall and will cover health and safety helping Glasgow’s construction and environmental companies identify, manage and control risks.



Throughout the year business leaders from all sectors will have the opportunity to hear from marketing, HR and construction specialists who will explore topics such as carbon footprinting, performance management and how to make the most of the media.

Paul Griffin, construction director from Barr Construction said: “Kelvin Hall is such an important building to Glasgow’s community and as a local construction firm we wanted to work closely with the community and the local businesses.

“Working with our sub-contractors, we will be offering Glasgow’s businesses the opportunity to hear not only from our own experts but from industry specialists in marketing, digital media and HR, making them great for a variety of business.

“We are looking forward to our first health and safety seminar this Friday and would encourage anyone interested to sign up quickly, with just a few spaces remaining. The session will cover pre-planning and procurement as well as the learning outcomes from London 2012 and Glasgow 2014.”



Main contractor Barr Construction is currently on site working on the first phase of the £60 million renovation of Glasgow’s historic Kelvin Hall.

The much-loved city landmark is undergoing a full transformation to create a unique community cultural hub. The new facility will house community and cultural services from Glasgow Museums, Glasgow Sport, the National Library of Scotland and Glasgow University.
