The developer is currently working on a £6 million project at Marykirk in Montrose.

The company’s director, Michael Fotheringham said that the success of its 26 home development in Angus had given them the confidence to embark on the Johnhaven project, which Mr Fotheringham sees as a significant step in the company’s growth.

He told The Courier: “The size of the Marykirk development fits in with our previous projects and has had an amazing response so far.

“We will be shortly undertaking a 70-unit development at Johnshaven and, out of the first 24 properties, 14 have already been reserved.”

He said that the firm had a strong local focus with a commitment to high-quality finishes and high-specification equipment that sets them apart from larger developers.

Fotheringham Homes currently employs 32 people, including sub-contractors, with the majority of staff coming from within a 25-mile radius of the company’s Gourdon headquarters.

Mr Fotheringham added: “As well as using local staff, we also have long-standing relationships with local suppliers, which in our minds re-emphasises that using local suppliers and staff is something to be proud of, but also a commercially sound decision.”

The firm has completed developments in Montrose, Inverbervie, Blairgowrie and Portlethen.
