Advertorial: ACS celebrates 20 years in RSL Health & Safety

ACSACS is proud to have been providing Health & Safety management and support services to the Scottish housing sector for 20 years. In 1994 the first Health & Safety Control Manual was developed for Employers in Voluntary Housing (EVH) and we have been working with EVH and its members since 1995.

Our housing-specific H&S services have developed significantly over the last 2 decades and we have amassed unrivalled skills in auditing, policy development, risk assessment, facilities safety, compliance management and training. Indeed, ACS has developed and runs the only IOSH Accredited ‘Working Safely for Housing Associations’ course in the UK.

The housing sector is rather unique in terms of both the services provided and the management structure of RSL’s. This, of course, requires to be properly understood if suitable safety policies and procedures are to be prepared and an effective safety culture developed. The close working relationship ACS has enjoyed with EVH over the years and the keen interest taken by EVH members in H&S has allowed our staff to really get to grips with the ethos of housing associations and we are delighted to consider this sector our core client base for health, safety and welfare management.

ACS directors Prof Roger Willey and Martin Mitchell would like to thank all our housing association clients for your interest in H&S over the past 20 years. It has been a pleasure to see safety cultures and practices develop and we will be here to help you improve standards still further into the future.

To discuss any H&S related issue, please contact our Sandra Brennan (Head of SHE) or John Cadden.
