Alpha Scotland to kit out new University of the West of Scotland campus

Furniture specialist Alpha Scotland has won a contract to kit out key learning spaces at the University of the West of Scotland’s new £110 million campus in Lanarkshire.

The new state of the art facility at Hamilton International Park, which opens in September this year, has been designed to encourage new ways of working.

Alpha Scotland, part of the Belfast-based Alpha Group, will provide innovative furniture which supports this aim across the library, learning and break out spaces.

Julie Carson of Alpha Scotland said: “Education is an area in which we do a great deal of work and we are delighted to have the opportunity to bring our expertise to such an exciting new development. The importance of surroundings, particularly, when it comes to learning, cannot be underestimated.”

Graham Black, UWS project director, added: “We are always looking for ways to enhance the learning experience of our students and are very aware of the need to create spaces that facilitate this. Our new Lanarkshire Campus gives us the opportunity to offer fresh, contemporary interiors and products that are conducive to thinking, study and the exchange of information and ideas.”
