Arc-Tech (Scotland) completes East Dunbartonshire early years centres

Glasgow-based building services provider Arc-Tech (Scotland) has expanded its portfolio in the education sector with its latest completions in East Dunbartonshire.

Works to deliver Lairdsland and Oakburn Early Years, located in Kirkintilloch and Milngavie respectively, began in late 2019. Led by main contractor Robertson Construction Central West (and delivery partner hub West Scotland) for principal client East Dunbartonshire Council; both were officially handed over this spring and will welcome children this August.

The new centres, as well as a third in Bearsden, deliver a combined total of 272 places for children between the ages of two and five, with modern facilities helping to support staff in the delivery of 1140 hours of care per child every year.

Arc-Tech were responsible for the design and installation of each facility’s Mechanical and Electrical Services with air conditioning, thermal insulation and LTHW installation – as well as all fire, security, data and lighting systems – amongst the list of services provided.

John Gallacher, managing director of Arc-Tech, said: “Since our inception in 2016, Arc-Tech (Scotland) has carved a very successful workstream within the Education sector with varying contracts delivered across the breadth of the country. Robertson is also one of our businesses biggest clients so to have been given the responsibility of supporting them and delivery partner, hub West Scotland, across three contracts was something that we are very happy to be involved in.

Our project teams worked diligently to support Robertson and we hope that the young children who are going to use these centres will enjoy first venture into education and friendship. We look forward to working with the project team and partners in the future.”

Arc-Tech continues to support the delivery of a further two early years centres in Inverclyde – working with the council and hub West Scotland – as well as assisting Maxi Construction with the refurbishment of Balerno High School in Edinburgh.
