Architects appointed to £27m housing association framework

HG_P207Home Group has appointed 14 architects to a £27 million framework to support plans to build 10,000 new homes of all tenures during the next five years.

The appointments will see the affordable housing developer work with some of the most highly renowned and decorated architecture practices in the UK.

The four-year framework has been divided into five sections which mainly focus on London and the regions. A non-geographic Masterplanning section will focus on large scale regeneration and new build projects.

In Scotland, Home Group will work with Anderson Bell Christie, Squires Barnett, P+HS Architects, John Thompson & Partners, PCKO Architects, HTA and ID Partnership.

Each of the successful architects have been selected because they’ve been able to demonstrate a commitment to design excellence and constructing homes which reflect the local heritage and landscape in which they will be built.

Liz Gibney, Home Group’s head of place, said: “We’re looking forward to working with each and every one of these successful practices. Some we already have existing relationships with and for others we’re keen to see what they can offer.

“Home Group has committed itself to producing homes of the highest design quality for all of our customers regardless of tenure.

“To do this we have undergone a lengthy process where we’ve invited architects from throughout the UK to tell us about how they will be able to help us meet our ambitions of providing some of the best quality homes in the country for all of our customers.

“Each practice which has been selected made the final cut because they were able to demonstrate to us that they shared our vision of creating homes which are design led and communities which work for all who live there.”
