  • CALA offers househunters chance to fast track to new home

Househunters in Edinburgh and the Lothians eager to make a speedy move after lockdown eases will be able to do so with full confidence thanks to CALA Homes (East).

Building Briefs – July 3rd

The housebuilder is offering customers the ability to fast-track their moves with a home which is already complete, ready and waiting, under its ‘Ready for You’ banner. This means customers can make a move in as little as four weeks on selected homes.

CALA’s Ready for You homes offer customers a stress-free move and additional certainty, something which has become even more valuable as househunters look for reassurance post-lockdown.

In addition to providing certainty on entry dates and waiting times, meaning buyers can easily organise removal vans and new furniture, all homes are finished to CALA’s signature high standard with flooring and turf already included. All of this ensures buyers can live in their brand new home from the day they get their keys.

The developer is also focusing on giving buyers further certainty throughout the process with incentives such as Guaranteed Buyer and Part Exchange services, which allow buyers to plan their move with confidence. Buyers also now have the ability to carry out fully refundable remote reservations.

Many of these Ready for You homes are already available for customers to visit remotely through CALA’s new Virtual Guided Tours service. Househunters can now view these homes by pre-arranged appointment, meaning they can see first-hand the layout, design and quality.

  • New cinema to be built at Edinburgh shopping centre

Plans for a new ten-screen cinema in Edinburgh have been approved.

The cinema will be built as an extension to the existing Cameron Toll Shopping Centre and will include a separate restaurant, retail space and GP practice.

The cinema will be operated by Empire Cinemas and built on what is currently the shopping centre’s car park.

The £12 million development will lead to a loss of 128 parking spaces, however new racks for bicycles will be installed.
