CIOB launches new hub for Highlands and Islands

The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) had announced the launch of a new hub for members in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.

CIOB launches new hub for Highlands and Islands

The virtual launch event includes contributions from John MacLennan of the Construction Scotland Innovation Centre, Caroline Gumble, the CIOB’s CEO, LDN Architects’ Stuart MacKellar, who is currently involved in the restoration of Inverness Castle, and hub committee member Sharon Barrie of the Highland Council.

Ms Gumble’s pre-lockdown visit to Scotland earlier this year led to conversations with some of the 2,400 Scotland-based members and with the regionally-based team around refocussing the support offered to Scottish members, to further support, involve and represent members and the wider construction community in the Highland and Islands.

Officially open as of 1 January 2021, the new hub will run a series of events to establish the network, welcome new members and discuss issues of specific interest to the construction and built environment community in the Highlands and Islands.

To get involved with the new hub, please contact regional manager Lynne McKay via lmckay@ciob.org.uk.
