Clark Contracts picks up tenth contract for Lidl

The Dumbarton store, located on Castle Street, will be the tenth Lidl supermarket delivered by the firm and is expected to provide approximately 40 new jobs for the area. When complete, the store will feature an in-store bakery, customer toilet as well as parking for both cars and bikes.

Lidl GB’s regional head of property, Gordon Rafferty, said: “There’s been much anticipation for this new Lidl store and it’s great that we are now in a position to break the ground and start the build. We are extremely grateful for all the support that we have received so far and would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding whilst we enter this next phase of the development.”

Michael Scanlan, director, Clark Contracts, added: “It is fantastic to reach this milestone of starting on-site at our tenth Lidl store having begun working for the supermarket giant in 2014 to deliver their Livingston supermarket.”

The project will be registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme and will be audited by a CCS Scheme monitor throughout the project.

Clark Contracts is currently on site delivering the construction of a new Lidl Supermarket in Bathgate having previously completed stores in Livingston, Greenock, Arbroath, Craigmillar, Edinburgh Easter Road, Edinburgh Slateford, Bucksburn and Ayr.
