Clydebank development could be scuppered by developer fee

Plans to build four new houses in Clydebank could fall through because the developer hasn’t paid an outstanding £5,400 fee, according to reports.

West Dunbartonshire Council granted planning permission in summer 2018 for the homes on land adjacent to Three Acres, off Cochno Road in Faifley.

However, developer David Lindsay has failed to pay the £5,400 developer contribution, which is required by the council on developments with a shortfall of open space, the Glasgow Times reports.

Mr Lindsay has reportedly suggested expanding the open space instead of paying the contribution, but a report presented to councillors suggests that an increase in provision is not possible on the site.

The council’s planning committee will consider the matter at a virtual meeting next Wednesday.
