TENDERS

Contract Authority: North Ayrshire Council



Details: North Ayrshire Council requests tenders from experienced Contractors to undertake repair works to the Millport Masonry Pier. A previous dive survey inspection identified the presence of a number of defects/holes on the sheet piles along the southern perimeter of the masonry pier.

The dive inspection also noted the presence of voids in the masonry blockwork on the North side of the pier, with evidence of undercutting also observed.

In addition, the bottom landing of the steel staircase was observed to be in a state of disrepair, with sections of the landing and timber supports missing.

Contract Authority: Crown Estate Scotland (Interim Management)

Details: The Principal Contractor is to undertake fabric repairs to both the mill buildings, to ensure they are made watertight, correcting the former inappropriate repairs and enable safe public access and interpretation of the buildings.

The works comprise:

- Local consolidation of rubble masonry walls

- Removal of cement pointing and repoint using lime mortar.

- Timber window and door repairs.

- Repairs to timber flooring and sarking boards.

- Slater works.

- Structural repairs to existing lintols.

- Refurbish and replacement of cast iron rainwater goods.

- Cleaning of historic artefacts.

- Refurbishment of North Mill Sluice gate, lade and water wheel.

- Cleaning of the north mill threshing machine and ensure it remains -is connected and can be operated by hand turn only.

- Installation of hydro dynamo and 12v lighting.

- New landscaping works.
