Construction work commences at New Waverley project

Prime site property developer Queensberry Properties Ltd (QPL) has commenced construction at ‘Waverley Square’, the first residential development within the 7.5-acre mixed-use New Waverley project located in the heart of Edinburgh’s historic old town.

Waverley Square includes 66 new homes for private sale in a considered mix of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments, mews houses and maisonettes, designed in a quadrangular formation around a central courtyard.

The first residential development within New Waverley will be flanked by retail, commercial and leisure outlets

Architectural practice Allan Murray Associates has incorporated high-quality materials to the elevational treatments, including natural sandstone, timber and metal cladding, brick, render and glass throughout, which combine superbly to create a striking exterior which sits beautifully within its famous surroundings.

The first properties are anticipated to be complete by the autumn of 2020. All have been designed exclusively for this cutting edge development, with residents also benefiting from 59 underground car parking spaces.

Hazel Davies, sales and marketing director of Queensberry Properties, said: “We are delighted to be underway at this extraordinary development. There are so many superlatives that apply to Waverley Square, however, its unique location is worthy of particular mention. Positioned right in the heart of Scotland’s capital city, it gives residents immediate access to an incredible range of things to see and do, most of which are right on their doorstep, including the best of Edinburgh’s famous history and culture. And with excellent train, tram and bus links, I have no doubt there will be high demand when we bring these properties to market.”

Queensberry Properties Ltd is a partnership between housebuilders Cruden Homes (East) Ltd and land and property experts Buccleuch Property.
