ENGIE strengthens leadership team in Scotland

Brian Pettigrew

Energy and services firm ENGIE has announced the next chapter of its expansion plans in Scotland with the appointment of Brian Pettigrew as regional managing director for its Regeneration business.

In his previous role as group operations director for Robertson Partnership Homes – a stand-alone business unit within the Robertson Group, Brian led the business from a standing start in 2014 to achieving a turnover of £70 million in 2018.

As regional managing director, Brian will be instrumental in navigating the former Keepmoat Regeneration business – which was acquired by ENGIE in 2017 – as it expands its offering to places and communities by combining the strengths of ENGIE’s expertise in facilities management for schools and hospitals and district energy schemes with its construction and regeneration activities.

One of his first tasks is the relocation of the former Keepmoat Regeneration workforce from Cambuslang, to a new office centrally located in North Lanarkshire, which will be shared with ENGIE colleagues delivering facilities management services across Scotland.

Brian describes how this will allow the teams to work collaboratively, partnering on different schemes and adding a new dimension to the product offering for Scottish clients.

He said: “It’s a time of huge opportunity for the business north of the border! The Scottish Government is as enthusiastic as it’s ever been to invest in and expand affordable housing across the country. Not only have we seen the commitment to deliver 50,000 units in the lifetime of this parliament, but there is also more widespread recognition on improving existing stock to tackle fuel poverty and enhancing the quality of lives through better services.

“At ENGIE we are in a unique position to offer all these things and become the market leaders in placemaking.”

Dave Sheridan, ENGIE’s divisional CEO for places & communities, said: “Expanding the ENGIE offer in Scotland is one of our prime business objectives. The regeneration team has done remarkable work in the last decade and made a real difference to improve the lives of Scottish people. As Brian leads them into the new era with several new products to offer our clients, we anticipate considerable growth, in both partnerships and staff numbers. We’re delighted to have him on board.”
