Hardies completes brewing company’s project in Dundee

Hardies Property & Construction Consultants has completed work on the Caird Hall bar and restaurant in Dundee city centre for St Andrews Brewing Company.

Now open to the public, the 7,500 sq ft premises are situated in the basement of Dundee’s Caird Hall, occupying two units in the former City Arcade.

The restaurant side has seating for 160 people, a wine cellar and conference room, while the pub section has 20 beers on tap. The site also boasts a ‘Scotch Corner’ and an ‘indoor beer garden’.

Gary Ovenstone, partner and quantity surveyor on the project for Hardies, said: “We are delighted to assist the completion of this attractive bar and restaurant on behalf of St Andrews Brewing Company, which marks another welcome addition to Dundee’s buoyant food and drink offering.”

The craft brewer’s largest premises by far, Hardies was quantity surveyor on the project, which was on site for six months, with architects Andrew Black Design and contractors SteamPunk.
