ISG has been awarded a multi-million pound contract at the popular Fort Kinnaird Shopping Park in Edinburgh.

The contractor has commenced work to create over 10,000 sq ft of additional space at an existing retail unit. ISG will install a new mezzanine level at the former Toys ‘R Us outlet, creating retail, storage and office space.

The building’s mechanical and electrical infrastructure will be upgraded as part of the project, with ISG also installing three new staircases to access the mezzanine floor and upgrading cladding elements on the unit’s elevations and roof to improve thermal performance.

This latest win further raise ISG’s profile in the city, with the contractor currently delivering a £6.6 million student accommodation project at Elliott House for developer, McLaren, as well as a £3.1m contract with University of Edinburgh and a £1.4m scheme with independent school Edinburgh Academy.

Andy McLinden, ISG’s Scotland regional managing director, said: “This project is an important win for the business, building on our recent successes and reinforcing our credentials in Edinburgh. Our retail property contracting expertise continues to be highly-valued, with our first project at the busy Fort Kinnaird Shopping Park.”
