Construction and residential development company JB Bennett (Contracts) Ltd is celebrating a series of new contract wins in Scotland’s social housing sector.

Designs by Robert Potter & Partners for the North View Housing Association project

The Cumbernauld-based firm began work last month on the construction of six residential blocks consisting of 45 units at Dumbarton Harbour.

The circa £4 million project, which forms the third phase of work at the site, will be delivered on behalf of Dunbritton Housing Association and West Dunbartonshire Council.

JB Bennett is also set to deliver 24 new homes and associated works for Falkirk Council at the former Torwood School site in Larbet. Work on the circa £3.2m project will begin in March.

The first development was designed by JM Architects and the second by Falkirk Council.

A circa £3m project for North View Housing Association will see the contractor redevelop the former Windlaw Lodge in Glasgow.

The Robert Potter & Partners-designed project will deliver 23 flats and two homes as well as an associated SUDS basin, road network, bicycle stores and public open space at Ardencraig Road.

Craigdale Housing Association has appointed the company to a £100k office refurbishment contract. Working to a plan from Bruach Design, JB Bennett will reconfigure the existing office to form a new entrance and internal alterations to make better use of the entrance and reception area.

Both the North View and Craigdale project are scheduled to commence around March.

Elsewhere, JB Bennett will deliver a new building for Braehead nursery and an extension and refurbishment of Strathblane nursery for circa £1.2m in total.

Designed by Atkins, both projects are aimed towards aiding Stirling Council’s commitment to providing 1140 funded hours of early learning & childcare.

JB Bennett will begin the Braehead project in March and the Strathblane nursery in April.
