Knight Frank has continued to expand its Scottish residential development and specialist sector division with the appointment of James Stewart-Lockhart.

Bringing nine years of experience in the residential development sector, Stewart-Lockhart joins the firm from Allsop LLP, where he worked on both residential and mixed-use developments across London and the surrounding regions.

In recent years, he has specialised in the sale and acquisition of permitted development opportunities and has represented a wide range of clients from institutions, funds, national house builders, property companies and individuals.

The Knight Frank team, based in Edinburgh, had a successful 2017 and start to 2018, working on a number of landmark residential development and investment projects in the city. Most notably, Knight Frank was appointed on the sale of Project Haven, a rare portfolio of 129 privately owned apartments across Edinburgh and Dundee, which was sold privately in Q1 2018 for in excess of the £24,500,000 guide price.

Leading the team is partner Neil Scott who, in conjunction with Toby Withall, head of commercial agency, spearheaded the creation of the division, which covers residential development and investment, new homes and specialist sectors in Edinburgh and across Scotland.

Residential development valuations specialist, Neil Kirk, also joined the team in November 2017 as an associate, and has sixteen years of experience across both residential and commercial industries. Neil Kirk will also be developing a valuation and development service across student residences, in conjunction with Toby Withall.

Neil Scott, partner at Knight Frank, said: “The continued expansion of Knight Frank’s Residential Development and Specialist Sector division in Edinburgh, running in conjunction with our colleagues in the commercial division, is a reflection of our commitment to this market.

“We are continuing to recruit at all levels across the team to ensure we are able to evolve the business and service our continually growing and diverse range of clients even more effectively.”
