McLaughlin & Harvey awarded Highlander House refurbishment

highlander-houseMcLaughlin & Harvey has been appointed to complete a full refurbishment of Highlander House in the city centre of Glasgow.

Formally occupied by the Scottish Government, Highlander House will undergo a complete refurbishment internally to provide 40,000sqft of high-spec Cat A space, including an enhanced entrance and enlarged reception area.

The eight-storey building in Glasgow’s Waterloo Street, will be fully stripped-out, enabling McLaughlin & Harvey to reconfigure the eight levels of office accommodation.

The project involves the full replacement of all M&E services, the creation of shower and changing areas within the basement, remodelling of the reception area on the ground floor and the full refurbishment of the toilets and open plan areas on the upper floors.

Externally, McLaughlin & Harvey will overlay the existing roof, overclad the lower levels with lightweight stone system and create a new roof terrace at 2nd floor level.

Richard Restrick, head of fit-out at McLaughlin & Harvey, said: “Following on from the recent completion of the fit-out of 131 St Vincent Street, it’s fantastic to be carrying on in the city centre with another full building refurbishment. This work is one of the core sectors of our business and it’s pleasing to see our reputation continue to grow within this sector.”
