About this development:
- Authority:Stirling
- Type:Residential, Healthcare
- Applications:
- Team:ADP (architect), Caledon Group (developer)
Drawn up by architects ADP on behalf of Caledon | TDL, Northcare (Scotland) and Scape Homes, the proposals are for a site located on Back O’Hill Road which is currently in the ownership of the Raploch Urban Regeneration Company and NHS Forth Valley.
It is identified in the Local Development Plan as ‘Orchard House’ and Site 6 in The Raploch Masterplan.
Under the plans, the student accommodation would be delivered across a range of cluster and studio apartments in two four-storey blocks and one four and five-storey block.
A 71-bed care home arranged over three and four storeys with recreational gardens will also be included along with ground floor student communal facilities and external amenity spaces.
The planning application noted: “The proposed development will transform an under-utilised island site into a key gateway location and in doing so fulfil an important aspiration for the city of Stirling as expressed in development plan policies and supplementary guidance.”
