Springfield Properties has unveiled plans to build 85 new affordable homes in a Moray village.

The developer is proposing to deliver the properties between the A96 and St Andrews Road in Lhandbryde.

The mix of two bedroom bungalows, one bedroom cottage flats and three bedroom semi-detached homes were shared with locals at the Lhanbryde community centre earlier this month. The layout for the site was also on display, along with information about Springfield.

Nearly 40 people attended the exhibition, with the developer buoyed by the positive feedback on the planned development.

Springfield managing director for affordable housing, Tom Leggeat, said: “It’s great to hear so many supporting comments from existing residents in the area about our plans to build new affordable homes in Lhanbryde.

“The layout is spacious, with plenty of wooded areas, large gardens and a play area. The homes will be highly energy efficient with increased levels of insulation, making them cheaper to run.

“The village itself is just 15 minutes away from Elgin and has a handy bus route to the town. There is also a local primary school and a post office. Our plans have been submitted to Moray Council and a planning decision is expected in the coming months.”
