New Lidl store nearing completion in Leith
Clark Contracts is on site completing the construction of a new Lidl supermarket on Easter Road in Leith, the contractor’s seventh project for the retailer.
The new steel-framed store will be the first Lidl ‘Metropolitan’ supermarket in Scotland with the store being raised to provide parking space underneath and the ability to extend by adding further storeys to the building. A full fit out of the sales area, storage space and staff welfare areas is also being completed.
The new store is scheduled for completion in autumn 2018 when it will open its doors to the public.
Lidl recently opened its 700th store in the UK and Clark Contracts has already completed the construction of new stores in Livingston, Greenock, Craigmillar, Slateford in Edinburgh and Bucksburn, Aberdeen along with the refurbishment and extension of the Arbroath store.
Clark Contracts has also been awarded an eighth project from Lidl UK for the refurbishment and extension of the existing supermarket in Ayr.
