New MD appointed to lead Robertson’s Eastern business
Robertson has appointed Gordon Milne as managing director of its Eastern construction business.
He will lead operations in the Aberdeenshire, Aberdeen City and Angus region, where he will be tasked with driving strategic growth as well as overseeing projects including several for the University of Aberdeen.
Gordon has more than 38 years’ experience in the industry, most recently serving as operations manager at Morrison Construction. He holds a degree in construction management from Robert Gordon University.
Derek Shewan, chief executive, Robertson, said: “Gordon brings a raft of skills and experience that will provide a major boost for the Eastern team as we continue to grow the business.
“This experience and knowledge of the construction sector, combined with Gordon’s extensive understanding of the local area, makes him the ideal candidate to strengthen and extend Robertson’s capabilities across the region.”
Gordon’s appointment marks a return to the very same office in which he started his career as trainee quantity surveyor at Doric Construction, which went on to be acquired by Robertson.
He said: “It’s an exciting time to be joining the business, with several high-profile projects underway as well as wider initiatives focused on employee development.
“Robertson has an excellent reputation that extends across the entire industry, so I’m looking forward to continuing to drive the business forward in the region.”
Gordon’s appointment follows a record-breaking year for Robertson, with work on major projects including The Event Complex Aberdeen, contributing to revenue increasing from £565.4 million to £752.4m in the financial year ending 31 March 2018.
