Fit-out and refurbishment specialist GHI Contracts was successfully awarded four major project contracts exceeding £10 million in recent weeks.

With an order book now similar to that pre-COVID, the recent appointments cover commercial and accommodation sectors across the central belt.

The first award with RES, the world’s largest independent renewable energy company, is to undertake alterations and refurbishment of its office accommodation within Pacific Quay, Glasgow. The works to part of the 3rd floor level of the STV studios building, involves the creation of new meeting rooms, new wall/floor finishes and associated lighting to create a new flexible working environment and accommodate activities around the forthcoming COP26 event.



Also due to begin are two commercial office projects in Edinburgh, the first at One Lochside, within Edinburgh Park concerns the strip out, internal refurbishment and remodelling of three floors at Wallace House. Initial works are to redevelop and refurbish levels 00 and 01 including the atrium area, office areas and additional external works. The project will also include the refurbishment of the second-floor accommodation, which is currently occupied.

The second project, which has commenced within St James Quarter, involves a CAT A and CAT B fit-out of two levels in the Infill Building. The space will be suitable for tenants and comprise of meeting rooms, kitchen and sound studio.

The most recent contract secured is the refurbishment of a Category A listed Building at George Street, Edinburgh. GHI has been appointed to convert the upper floors from the existing office accommodation. Within a prime location of the city’s new town, the works include the formation of extra floor space on the former roof level including all M&E works and the installation of a new lift and external terraces.
