Office blocked planned for former STV site in Glasgow

A major office block could be built at the old STV studios as part of a plan which would complete the redevelopment of a city centre site in Glasgow.
ES Renfield Ltd is requesting permission to develop the 100,000-square-foot Grade A block at the corner of Renfrew Street and Renfield Street, next to the 300-bedroom Maldron hotel which is currently under construction and scheduled for completion in 2021.
Designed by Cooper Cromar, ‘Broadway 2’ would constitute the last remaining portion of the urban block to be developed and accommodate a ground floor co-working space and a tenth-floor private roof terrace behind a glazed curtain wall.
A design statement submitted with the planning application notes: “The proposed high calibre development will be an occupier-focused design to deliver world-class workspace, fit for modern-day business needs.”
