Plans submitted for more than 30 new homes in Bridge of Allan

Plans submitted by Allanwater Homes to build more than 30 homes on Bridge of Allan grassland has been described as ‘the next generation’ of housing growth in the town.

The developer submitted a proposal of application notice to Stirling Council earlier this year. Documents on its website detail that over 30 new homes, new and altered roads and footpaths, foul and surface water drainage and landscaping will be created at the site bounded by the Darn Walk, Blairforkie Drive and Fishers Green.

Allanwater Homes’ online document reads: “The application site is not allocated in the Stirling Local Development Plan (2018).

“It has not previously been put forward or considered for residential development by Stirling Council, and as such, this proposal site is to be considered against the current Local Development Plan and the appropriate Scottish Government Scottish Planning Policy at this time’.

According to Allanwater Homes, the site offers ‘an opportunity for the next generation of housing growth in Bridge of Allan’.

It added: “There are currently no allocations within the adopted Stirling Local Development Plan which have the ability to meet these housing market pressures and provide the new housing stock required to address the high housing need and demand in Bridge of Allan.”

The developer has also stated that if planning permission is granted, the homes will be built within five years, The Stirling Observer reports.
