Owners of the renowned Clark’s takeaway business is set to open a new £750,000 single-storey bakery and takeaway near the Myrekirk roundabout at Kingsway West.

Initial plans to convert two converted shipping containers were refused planning permission after it was decided the design would be “detrimental” to the area’s character.

New designs by Peter Inglis Architects for a single-storey building consisting of a glass front and timber-shaded cladding were approved by councillors at Dundee City Council’s planning committee by 16 to seven.
