RJ McLeod will build a network of access tracks through the site of the 443 MW offshore development, in which SSE Renewables is investing £580 million.

The firm will also build the new Sandwater road, construction compounds and base and crane pads for the turbines, The Press and Journal reports.

Mike Seaton, director of development at SSE Renewables, said: “SSE Renewables is delighted to announce RJ McLeod as the civil contractor for our Viking Wind Farm. We have a strong track record of delivering onshore wind farms successfully together.
