Dundee City Council will discuss the application for 100 further houses at Dykes of Gray Road next week. The proposal includes plans for a village green, landscaping and infrastructure works.

A mixture of house types is planned. All houses will be detached with 82 four-bedroom and 18 five-bedroom houses proposed.

City development director Mike Galloway, who backed the application for approval, said the proposal complied with the development plan for the area.

He said there had been previous applications relating to the creation of a village development in the area which were approved by the committee but did not progress.

He told the Evening Telegraph: “Two further planning applications were submitted in 2014 for the creation of a village development.

“One of these was refused while approval of the other was agreed by members. This has now commenced.”

He said yet another application was approved in April 2015, although a legal agreement for that has still to be finalised.

Mr Galloway said this latest application was in accordance with the strategic development plan which allocated 750 new homes for the area.
