Edinburgh architecture and design studio LBA has strengthened its team in a bid to focus on private clients and commercial residential projects.

Gareth Jones, who has held senior positions in architectural practices including Richard Murphy Architects, has joined LBA as senior architectural designer.

During his 15-year career, Mr Jones has directed a number of domestic building projects such as the restoration and conversion of Donaldson’s School building and Gate Lodges in Edinburgh into 112 luxury apartments.

His most notable project to date, Murphy House, was awarded the 2016 RIBA House of the Year category.

Lynsay Bell, managing director of LBA, said: “Gareth’s appointment is testament to our commitment to grow the business further. We have admired Gareth’s work for many years and delighted that he’s joined our team as he brings a wealth of design expertise and industry knowledge.”

Mr Jones added: “It’s an exciting time to join the business. LBA is without question paving the way when it comes to design-led architecture, working with some of the country’s leading independent developers and builders.”
