The application to amend the current planning consent which was in place for the development masterplan, has allowed Taylor Wimpey West Scotland to provide its detailed proposals for housing mix, landscaping and building materials for its the development area.

Located off Gartferry Road, Taylor Wimpey West Scotland’s Stoneyetts View will provide 121 new homes in a mix of two and three-bedroom terrace and semi-detached, as well as four-bedroom detached homes. The development has also been designed to create a sense of place and maximises the latest Scottish Government Planning Policy for Designing Streets.

Stoneyetts View will also benefit from the delivery of key infrastructure as part of the masterplan vision for the former hospital site such as new roads, as well as the tranquillity of the existing woodland within the site which will be retained and enhanced with new woodland paths to link to the existing countryside footpath network adjacent to the site.

As part of an existing Section 75 legal agreement with North Lanarkshire Council, the development will also provide financial contributions towards affordable housing, off-site play provision and education.

Colin Blair, technical director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, added: ”Our Stoneyetts View development, located off Gartferry Road, forms a key part of the wider masterplan of the former Stoneyetts Hospital which was granted detailed planning permission in December 2020. “Our detailed planning consent for our parcel of land provides more information about the range of homes that we will deliver here, along with the landscaping and building materials.

“We look forward to working with the local authority and our developer partner to secure the technical consents that are now required to allow our range of new homes to be built as part of the overall vision for this site.

“Stoneyetts View represents a significant and continued investment in North Lanarkshire by Taylor Wimpey West Scotland. As well playing our part in the delivery of new homes within the masterplan, our development will provide a range of economic benefits for the local area, which includes supporting over 160 jobs per year of construction, as well as the attraction of new customers to local businesses.”
