The seminar on Wednesday evening included presentations from three highly-regarded lawyers in the construction industry.

Garry Borland QC gave an adjudication update, Scott Manson, advocate, addressed the rules in relation to the role of an expert witness and Michael Conroy, head of construction at Harper Macleod, addressed key issues affecting the construction industry in Scotland.

Harper Macleod’s Laura McCorquodale, a senior associate in the dispute resolution team who specialises in contentious construction, chaired the first event.

She said: “The cultivation of good working relationships is at the heart of the construction industry.

“HM Construction Club is designed, not only to allow attendees to keep up to date with and discuss issues affecting the industry, but to form new working relationships and to catch up with existing industry colleagues. There was a great turnout and the next seminar will take place in March.”
