Viridor appoints new regional managing director for Scotland

Renewable energy company Viridor has appointed Paul Brown as its new Regional MD for Scotland.

He will take up the position on 01 February.

Prior to joining Viridor, Mr Brown was network connections director for Scottish Power Energy Networks.



He has over 25 years’ experience in infrastructure and energy, having work in a variety of roles in the UK and the USA.

In his new role, Mr Brown will head Viridor’s Scottish recycling and resources division which is currently investing £500 million in Scotland.

Recently, the company was appointed preferred bidder on the £700m Clyde Valley Residual Waste Partnership.

Mr Brown said: “This is an exciting time to be joining Viridor at the forefront of creating a more resource-efficient and sustainable UK, and I’m delighted to be leading efforts to realise Viridor’s vision for Scotland. By working with the team, clients, Scottish Government, and local communities, we will do our best to ensure a greener and more circular economy for the country.”



Ian McAulay, chief executive of Viridor, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Paul to our team. This is a critical time for resources and renewable energy policy in Scotland, including the delivery of our Scottish infrastructure projects. Paul brings a wealth of experience from within Scotland and overseas and will make a real contribution to our business.”
