Work starts on Aberdeen student accommodation project

causewayendWork has commenced 173 studio student accommodation scheme at Causewayend in Aberdeen.

Hardies Property and Construction Consultants is fulfilling the role of Project Manager and Employers Agent on the Spademill Lane project, which is for student developer Visage Properties and has been designed to achieve BREEAM “Outstanding” by student housing specialists Eco-Res and GWP Architects.

Murray Warner of Hardies said: “We are delighted to be working on this prestigious £17m project to bring this stand out student accommodation to Aberdeen. Work has recently commenced on site as a design and build project with local contractors Robertson Eastern involved in construction of the apartments. When completed in May 2017 the project will be managed by Homes for Students, one of the leading UK providers of student accommodation.

“As Project Managers we are working closely with Robertson, Visage and the wider project team to ensure we create a motivated and positive team environment which will ensure we complete on time and within budget.”

Also in Aberdeen, Hardies is well advanced in its plans to develop its Building Surveying remit, as the firm expands in the North East of Scotland from covering valuation work to offering a full spectrum of services to the business and construction community.

The Aberdeen office is in the third year of its five year masterplan to develop new markets and doubled its turnover last year, and is on course to double it again this year. It currently carries out Building Surveying services for Aberdeenshire Council.
