Young Professionals in Construction returns to Glasgow for next event

YPiCYoung Professionals in Construction (YPiC) has confirmed the details for its Summer 2016 event.

The second YPiC event of the calendar year sees the networking forum return to Glasgow. The event will be hosted at 29 Club in Royal Exchange Square on June 22 and will see around 100 construction industry professionals gather for relaxed, focussed networking, with the highlight, a talk from David Page of Page\Park.

David will be discussing a broad range of relevant construction industry topics as well as describing his role on the Mackintosh Restoration Project. Page\Park are the design team lead for this sensitive project; designing and overseeing the rebuilding of the Charles Rennie Mackintosh masterpiece. Page\Park are an employee owned business, with a 40 strong studio, based in the centre of Glasgow. As a practice they have a reputation for research, fine detailing and executing award winning designs. As is customary at YPiC events, David will field questions from the room, further promoting and tailoring the conversation to the attending young professionals.

Andrew Marshall of 3DReid and the YPiC committee said: “The events to date have been a real success. Measured against attendance levels, feedback and the real business opportunity stories that we’ve been made aware of, the committee can see that YPiC is going from strength to strength. It is paramount to the committee that whilst the events are casual and look to be something a little different, tangible business results continue to be realised. Part of the success may be down to the diverse cross-section of the construction industry who attend, we then mix everyone up through a short networking game.

“Last event’s networking was facilitated through a quick domino themed game, which was subject to the customary YPiC twist and proved very popular, certainly getting the room animated. Another real success of YPiC has been our ability to secure sponsorship for coming events, it has been really reassuring to have commitment from the industry. Regarding the next event, I’m personally really looking forward to interjecting on the Q+A with David Page. The Mackintosh Restoration Project is a special assignment and one that will no doubt resonate with the industry.”

The invites for the event went out last week and there are now over 90 signed up to attend. The committee would urge anyone who is still wanting to be part of the night, to sign up soon, before capacity is reached.

This YPiC Wednesday will be hosted at 29 Club, 29 Royal Exchange Square on the 22nd June from 6:30pm till 8:30pm.
