The contracts for construction, civil engineering and road infrastructure projects in the city include road surfacing, painting, lighting, temporary traffic management, landscaping, installation of playgrounds and heritage restoration.

The council is looking for at least five companies who can cover all elements for the construction, repair and maintenance of the projects.

Appointment of suppliers will take place on 1 May 2019, with contracts running for three years.

These contracts form part of a wider local authority procurement framework in partnership with North Lanarkshire and Renfrewshire councils.

Councillor Susan Aitken, leader of Glasgow City Council, said: “These major contracts will bring jobs and opportunities for local people and organisations to work on projects that improve Glasgow’s economy in the short and long term.
