Architectural practice 3DReid has appointed Graeme Feechan to head up its Glasgow studio as director.
Mr Feechan rejoins the practice after 10 years, having originally worked in both the Glasgow and Edinburgh studios.
Focusing on maintaining a high level of design quality across a range of mixed-use and commercial projects across Scotland, Mr Feechan will oversee the studio’s architectural and interior design teams.
The practice is currently engaged on a number of significant schemes across Scotland, including major urban renewal and PBSA scheme at Central Quay, a 1,000 unit mixed-tenure Maybury Quarter, both with Summix Capital and working alongside David Chipperfield Architects on the restoration, conversion and extension to Jenners Department Store.
The practice is also nearing completion on Goodstone Living’s unanimously approved 373-unit build-to-rent scheme in Leith.
Mr Feechan said: “It’s fantastic to rejoin the practice at this exciting time when there are so many exciting projects ongoing and we sense a development boom about to materialise as Glasgow looks set to really take off.
“With so many incredible sites in the city, our knowledge of the opportunities they herald, combined with our in depth experience of designing housing; hotels; commercial and retail developments puts us in good stead to be at the forefront of this activity.
“We are seeing unprecedented interest and inward investment in the Scottish market through our clients from London and the Manchester studios and I’m looking forward to working with the team to help bring these sites forward and help put Glasgow at the centre of the next wave.”
Managing director Nab Speakes added: “We are delighted to welcome Graeme back into the fold to lead our Glasgow studio as it continues to make a significant mark on the city.
“Graeme’s experience and strong design ethos will be critical to our growth plans for the region.
“He is one of many practice members to rejoin the team, which I believe is testament to the culture and environment we have built up over the years as somewhere people enjoy returning to.”
