3DReid removes hotel from Bath Street proposals
A previously approved hotel development at the junction of West Nile Street and Bath Street in Glasgow is to make way for a mixed-use development under newly revised plans.
3DReid had its initial proposals for an 183-bed hotel development, featuring a bar and rooftop restaurant, approved for the Central Conservation Area site.
The practice has now drawn up fresh proposals which instead incorporate an aparthotel, student accommodation and co-working spaces.
A statement on a pre-application consultation website explains: “The design concept for Nile House involves the careful redevelopment of the site and addition of new upper floors which could provide co-working space, student accommodation, aparthotel rooms or a combination of these uses.
“The proposals will deliver a vibrant mixed development of scale on this prominent corner site in the heart of Glasgow’s City Centre.”
