91 homes planned for Stirling village
Developer JMG Residential has launched a pre-application consultation seeking feedback for its plans to build 91 homes in the village of Throsk.

A spokesperson said: “The proposed development lies on a 16-acre site located off the A905, within and adjacent to the existing village of Throsk and designated as residential in Stirling Council’s Local Plan.
“Enjoying a woodland backdrop and open farmland close to the River Forth, the proposal combines quality design and sensitive landscaping in its commitment to integrate with the existing area and countryside.
“The development will include approximately 91 high quality, new homes, including a number of affordable homes. It will provide a range of house types tailored to the specific housing needs of the area.
“Consideration will be given to creating sustainable, low maintenance homes using green energy where possible.”
The firm added that the existing field boundary vegetation would be retained to connect to wildlife and the wider landscape, while retention and enhancement of the woodlands to the west and east of the site would be retained including tree planting, shrubs, wildflower grassland and the installation of bird boxes, The Stirling Observer reports.
The developers wrote: “There is an opportunity to improve the existing road networks including access to the site from the A905. This would include an assessment of the impact on the local highway network, including speed restrictions and controls.
“The permeable active travel network will be provided throughout the development, comprising a mixture of paths and footways connecting with the external network within the village.
“The proposal offers the opportunity to extend the settlement edge of Throsk with a development which is rooted within its surroundings and well integrated with the surrounding area.
“The framework looks to provide new family and affordable housing in an area already suited to this type of development and close to local amenities and public transport, a well-designed network of footpaths throughout the site leading to attractive public open spaces for residents and families to enjoy, upgrading of an existing play area for children, and making a financial contribution to improve local community services and facilities.”
The public consultation is open until July 2.
