Aberdeen approves near-£400m investment programme
Aberdeen City Council has approved a £398 million capital investment plan to make Aberdeen a “Smarter City”.
Councillors approved significant investment over five years on key projects aligned to the Smarter City priorities.
Council leader Councillor Jenny Laing said: “It is an ambitious programme which, when taken together with our intention to bid for a City Region Deal and our revenue budget, means that we will deliver on our vision to Shape Aberdeen for the benefit of generations to come.
“A key element of our vision is the regeneration of our city centre, and to help support the implementation of our City Centre Masterplan, £19.25m has been earmarked for 2016-17, which will complement existing and future plans to shape our City Region.”
The local authority also revealed its revenue budget for 2015/16 which includes a £76.2m spend on Communities Housing and Infrastructure.
