ACCA appoints Clark Contracts to fit out new Glasgow office
The contract to fit out the new Glasgow office of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) has been awarded to Paisley-based Clark Contracts.
Global professional accounting body ACCA is to occupy the first, second and third floors at 110 Queen Street, relocating circa 650 people from its existing Glasgow offices at Central Quay and Hydepark Street.
Clark Contracts has now started on site delivering the 55,750 sq ft fit out, with completion due in October and relocation taking place in November. The contractor’s in-house joinery workshop will be manufacturing a number of custom built bespoke items such as reception desks, bespoke ceiling and a feature wall.
The design of the space is heavily influenced by the recently completed fit-out of ACCA’s London head office in the iconic Adelphi Building, with the ACCA brand and new ways of working being embedded.
Jan Lloyd, head of global business support from ACCA, said: “ACCA has a strong history in Scotland, going back to the 1970s and the relocation to the Queen Street location is an exciting step for ACCA as an international organisation. The space, design and fit out will provide a modern working environment for ACCA staff that’s efficient, effective, making the best use of collaborative work and meeting spaces.”
Gordon Cunningham, managing director, Clark Contracts, added: “We look forward to completing this high spec fit out for ACCA. The offices feature large open plan floorplates, providing a great deal of flexibility and we are sure this will provide an enhanced working environment for everyone at ACCA for many years to come.”
Clark Contracts has a track record of high spec office fit outs in Glasgow, completing similar office projects for among others The Weir Group, Pinsent Masons, Ernst and Young and Maclay Murray and Spens.
