Advance Construction took the keys to a new DAF 65-tonne showpiece truck at Truckfest Scotland 2024 and raised over £2,500 at the event for the Beatson Cancer Charity.

Held at Ingliston, Truckfest is a family show that attracts thousands of enthusiasts each year and features special guests, including the Red Hot Chilli Pipers, customised trucks, vintage trucks, American rigs and everyone’s favourite, the Monster Car Crushing display.

The company exhibited at the two-day event, with staff volunteers raising the money for the cancer charity through bucket donations.

A year in the making, Advance ordered the new vehicle at last year’s show which DAF, one of Europe’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, unveiled to the public at this year’s event.

It took more than three months for general manager Colin Sinclair and his team to decide on an artist’s image for the vehicle which matched the company’s colour brand. The impressive truck design was named Lindsay after Colin’s wife.

General manager Colin Sinclair said: “The truck is a real showpiece for the company, and we are delighted with the result. It will be out working on site alongside our other tippers but will be instantly recognisable.

“Truckfest is a brilliant show and we would like to thank everyone, including our staff who gave up their time, who visited our vehicle exhibition and donated to our charity partner.”
