Advance Global Recruitment reveals plans for construction subsidiary

Advance Global RecruitmentEdinburgh based Advance Global Recruitment (AGR) is hoping to capitalise on the improving housing and construction markets with a new construction subsidiary.

AGR, which mostly works in the subsea sector and has a turnover of about £10m, said it already has deals in place with housebuilders and construction firms, The Herald reports.

The construction arm of the business is starting with six recruiters and that is predicted to grow to 10 by the end of the year. Some of those staff will be placed in its Dubai office.

Stuart Hunter, director and co-founder of AGR, is hoping for a strong start to the new venture which aims to be bringing in £750,000 in revenue by the end of this year and £3 million by the end of next year.

He said: “We will be working with a mix of clients from the biggest names in the home, commercial and retail building sectors as well as with some smaller, local fit-out contractors.”

Mr Hunter said there is a continuing need for people to work on the growing number of infrastructure projects in the UK and the Middle East.

He added: “We have enjoyed some immediate success on the back of previous relationships and already have secured agreements with some of the UK’s leading construction clients.

“On the back of this we hope to have a team of 10 consultants in place by the end of 2015 in the UK and from our office in Dubai, where we will be targeting the construction market in the United Arab Emirates.”

AGR, which was founded in 2010, said it will be looking for a range of temporary and permanent roles including labourers, skilled workers, engineers and surveyors.
