Affordable housing development plans to be finalised in Rattray

Plans are moving forward for a new affordable housing development in Rattray, with final proposals now being prepared.
A proposal of application notice was presented to Perth and Kinross Council’s Planning and Placemaking Committee on Wednesday, April 16.
The notice, submitted by Banchory-based Bancon Construction, outlines intentions to build residential homes and associated infrastructure on land situated 90 metres east of Westfields of Rattray, off Balmoral Road.
During the committee meeting, councillors highlighted the need for community-focused amenities and improved infrastructure. Bailie Claire McLaren called for the inclusion of a community space that local groups could use for meetings and events.
Councillor Bob Brawn, representing the Blairgowrie and Glens ward, commended Bancon Construction for engaging with the community and responding to local feedback.
Having attended two recent public consultation events, he raised concerns over traffic and road safety, pedestrian access and parking provision.
Further details on the proposed development and planning application are expected in the coming months.
