Gavin Fallen, senior architectural designer at Aitken Turnbull, has been the team’s head coach for three years, as well as father to eight-year-old team member Mason.

Mr Fallen said: “I made the decision two years ago to fundraise and make a charity donation to Cancer Research UK and the kids wore the charity name on the Wee Windsor strips as a community gesture.

“Since then, the costs of running the team have soared meaning we need to continually invest to ensure the kids have a high standard of equipment. For this reason, we needed to reach out to potential sponsors for support.

“Thankfully, Aitken Turnbull, my employers, were only too pleased to assist.”

He added: “Sponsorship is massive to the team, it means we could provide new strips for the start of the season, thus taking away any financial pressure.

“Not only does it support us financially, but it also provides us with some identity. On any game day there could be multiple age groups at Pinkie (our home ground), but when the boys pull on their Aitken Turnbull shirt, they will feel united and part of a team. The generosity and support sponsorship brings us is fantastic.”

Musselburgh Windsor FC was founded in 1953, making it one of the oldest youth football clubs in Scotland. There are many teams within the club, all supported and managed by a board.

The club is one of the largest clubs in the area and has a massive community presence, with kids coming together from local schools to play and interact. The teams play in the East of Scotland Soccer Development Association, governed by the SFA and SYFA.
