Alliance Electrical saves James Davidson and Sons Ltd staff from redundancy

Several workers have been saved from redundancy following the closure of James Davidson and Sons Ltd when it fell into administration in February.

Forfar-based Alliance Electrical has hired six plumbers and engineers who had been made redundant following the collapse of the Montrose-based business.

James Davidson and Sons got in contact with Alliance Electrical in a bid to save their workers from unemployment.

Alliance Electrical is also said to be taking on several of James Davidson and Sons clients, The Courier reports.



Richard Bathgate, restructuring partner of Johnston Carmichael LLP was appointed as the provisional liquidator of the plumbing and heating company, which first set up business in 1834.

Errol Lawrie, managing director of Alliance Electrical, said: “It was a surprise to receive the call from James Davidson and Sons, a company which have operated for many years in the region. Due to the continued success and growth of Alliance we have been able to save several jobs.”
