And finally... advance to Liverpool Street

Themed flexible office space provider Office Space in Town (OSiT) has announced the refurbishment and expansion of its Monopoly-styled Liverpool Street office, as 2025 marks the 90th anniversary of the iconic board game.

The redevelopment, designed by interior design studio Sam Kopsch Studio and delivered by workplace specialists Area, has been delivered at a time when increasing numbers of workers return to the office and flexible workspace offers an attractive and functional solution to employers seeking to provide compelling work environments.

Located at 46 New Broad Street, a three-minute walk from Liverpool Street station, one of the four stations featured on the British version of Monopoly, the refurbishment comprises an overhaul of the 10,000 sq. ft. ground and lower ground floors of office space previously occupied by Nuffield Health. The full transformation of the mezzanine floor sees the addition of seven state-of-the-art new offices units and 63 new desks, increasing overall desk capacity at Office Space in Town Liverpool Street by nearly 20%, which are all now occupied.

Upon entry to the new reception area and an encounter with the famous Monopoly “GO’’ sign, the creative aesthetic of the building provides an immersive yet professional surrounding to spark imagination throughout the workspace. The upgraded flooring, ceilings and new office furnishings across the two floors have been stylised in reference to the economic-inspired game – a suitable choice with the City of London’s financial traditions.

Each of OSiT Liverpool Street’s newly refurbished meeting rooms represent an iconic element from the popular board game. Highlight designs include the 3D-printed custom wooden ceiling in the Dice meeting room, the Bank meeting room with a vault-inspired walling, and the Electric Company room that features a bespoke light display with 50 bulbs.

Including Bank, Dice and Electric Company, the number of meeting rooms at OSiT Liverpool Street has almost doubled through the refurbishment, rising from seven to 12, with each equipped with advanced technology such as ceiling microphones and anti-glare screens. The size of the rooms vary from intimate spaces for one-to-one discussions, to flexible event venues that can accommodate crowds of up to 100 people, perfect for large-scale company networking sessions or socials.

A speakeasy-style games room, suitably titled ‘Mr M’s Cabinet of Curiosities’, is the headline new communal space added in the refurbishment, featuring a pool table, bar and sound system for after-work entertainment. Other enhanced amenities and facilities include five new ground floor call booths, a new on-site gym equipped for weights and cardio training, shower and locker facilities, and new bike storage facilities, incentivising cycling to work for employees seeking to improve their carbon footprint.

The refurbishment of OSiT Liverpool Street has been completed with a focus on sustainability. Key installations include energy-efficient systems such as CO₂ monitors that regulate oxygen levels for optimal comfort, LED and motion sensor lighting to minimise energy use, as well as time management systems for heating and air conditioning. This renovation serves as a prime example of effective green building practices, balancing aesthetics and functionality with environmental responsibility.
