Architecture is a hot topic on social media right now, particularly on TikTok where #architecture videos have racked up 7.6 billion views.

With this in mind, the team at Selco Builders Warehouse have used an AI art tool called Midjourney to reimagine famous global landmark buildings.

They’ve done this for Big Ben, Edinburgh Castle, Glasgow Cathedral, Battersea Power Station and many more.

They asked the AI to take inspiration from the work of Antoni Gaudi, Zaha Hadid, and Renzo Piano, who were the masterminds behind many famous buildings.

Among others, Gaudi designed the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Hadid designed the London Aquatics Centre (used in the 2012 Olympics), and Piano is the architect behind The Shard in London.

So, how might some of the world’s best-known buildings look if they’d been designed by someone else?

Carine Jessamine, marketing director at Selco Builders Warehouse, said: “With interest in architecture and architectural styles on the rise, we were curious how some of the most famous landmarks would translate into different architectural styles.

“With the capability of artificial intelligence to visualise new concepts, we were able to create impressions of existing buildings in the distinct design styles of renowned architects Antoni Gaudi, Zaha Hadid, and Renzo Piano. Our hope is that these fun designs can inspire projects both big and small to embrace the art that goes into design and construction.”
