And finally… apprentice builder
A builder has been praised on social media after leaving a heart-warming note and £10 for a customer’s six-year-old child.
After completing work on a patio for teacher Steph Heathcote, the builder left a note titled “pay packet” for the young boy who showed interest while he was working.
The note listed the boy’s work - “passing bricks”, “mixing cement” and “saying why more times than I have ever heard anyone say why” - and tallied up the final cost.
After removing “tax and national insurance”, he wrote that the “smashing little guy” earned £10.
Ms Heathcote, who shared the note on Twitter, said it “made his day to receive this”, adding: “What an example of kindness.”
