And finally… Architect designs seesaws to straddle US-Mexico border wall
Seesaws have been installed in between the metal slats of the US-Mexico border wall so that children on either side can play together.
Designed by architectural studio Rael San Fratello, the three pink seesaws straddle the wall between El Paso in Texas and Ciudad Juárez in Mexico.
The installation was widely praised on social media, with Mexican actor Mauricio Martinez writing on Twitter that it was a “beautiful reminder that we are connected: what happens on one side impacts the other”.
Posting images and videos of the installation to Instagram, architect Ronald Rael said: “The wall became a literal fulcrum for US-Mexico relations and children and adults were connected in meaningful ways on both sides with the recognition that the actions that take place on one side have a direct consequence on the other side.”
