And finally… Billy the bookkeeper
A lot of 122 vintage Ikea items have been sold for £32,000 at auction.
The furnishings were sold in Stockholm on Monday night and included tableware, furniture, mirrors and lights, the Guardian reports.
Several of the items date back to the 1950s. One of the items – a red Impala sofa, was worth £103 when it was launched in 1972, but it sold on Monday for £1,700.
Ulrika Ruding, Stockholms Auktionsverk’s head of applied arts, said: “There’s a lot of Ikea furniture to which we as an auction house would say ‘No thank you,’ but then there are items that have something special or an unusual story, something to draw a designer’s eye.”
